For the last several years there has been evidence of a growing number of expulsions of students in the San Francisco Unified School District. Some parents have claimed intolerance on the part of school district personnel towards African-Americans. The Board of Education has recently passed a new policy that takes direct aim at reversing this disturbing trend. Rachel Norton, a commissioner on the school board educates us on this new initiative.
